Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.
Psalm 125:1
In 1971-1972 a small group
of ladies met to purposely pray for
a new evangelical work in Hampton. God answered their request
with a weekly Bible Study group which met in homes on Wednesday
evenings. In January 1973, three of the couples felt led to begin
organizing an evangelical work with the result being the beginning of
Faith Baptist Church. This body of believers met for its first service
in the Farm Bureau Building south of Hampton in
March of 1973. There were seventeen people in attendance including the
speaker who was a student from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The church aligned itself with the Baptist General Conference and
gratefully accepted the Waverly Baptist Church as its mother
church.
In August 1973, Pastor Ron
and Priscilla Saari arrived to be the first
pastor and wife. The church began to grow. A charter was drawn up and
signed by 34 persons in March 1974. The following are the charter
members; Daryl Aaron, Vonn Aaron, Kathy Boots, Larry Boots, Tim Boots,
Guy Cameron, Pauline Cameron, Ann George, Denny George, Jim Green,
Joyce Green, Kimberly Green, Henry Harms, Ruth Harms, Linda
Hoogestraat, Ron Hoogestraat, Ann Koenigsberg, Dave Koenigsberg,
Frances Koengisberg, Harry Koenigsberg, Jane Koenigsberg, Jon
Koengisberg, Karen Koenigsberg, Melvin Koenigsberg, Tom Koenigsberg,
Judy Maifeld, Ron Maifield, Jennie Moore, Joan Moore, Ray Moore, Floy
Nelson, Priscilla Saari, Ron Saari, David Voy, and Denise Voy. This
charter led
to the need for a permanent facility. So work was started building a
church on 5 acres of land. This land which was provided by God was on
the east edge of
town; where the church is still located today. In July of 1975,
the church was moved into; at the time the church was averaging an
attendance of 70 people.
Chuck and Candy Bloyer
became the Associate Pastor in November, 1979 and stayed until 1982.
Pastor Ron and Priscilla Saari moved on to another work in Chicago in

1997, Pastor Steve Anderson and Sharon came to minister to the

to work as Youth Pastor from 1998 until 2003. During this time the
Children's Wing was added in September, 1999, and the church body
moved into the newly built sanctuary in July, 2003. Our 25th
Anniversary was celebrated on May 31, 1998. In May, 2005 Pastor Brian
and Brenda Haynes moved to Hampton to be the Family Life Pastor. In
August of 2005, Pastor Steve moved on to another work in Waconia,
Minnesota. Pastor Dave and Rosemary Koenigsberg were called to minster
to Faith Baptist Church in January 2006. Pastor Matt and Tenille Rounds
came in July 2006 to work with the youth group.
